Yanako RPGs - Projects Roadmap

To help the community keep track of important dates on multiple projects, we decided to make a roadmap for everyone to reference~ Please keep in mind that the dates listed are rough estimates unless a specific day is mentioned, and roadmap items may move up or down on this list based on priority changes.

This roadmap is updated during the first week of each month.

November - 2024

Dokimon closed beta comes to pass owners

Dokimon is currently in closed beta for all Kickstarter backers, however, in the first week or November (or perhaps a little earlier) we will be sending our keys to our Bundle Pass owners on itch to gather some last minute feedback on the game before we move into the final release of the game.

Additionally following this, the ability to purchase the "Retroboy Bundle Pass" will end.

Dokimon release to Steam

Dokimon will be released to Steam on November 22nd in English and Japanese!

The Dokimon demo will be permanently removed from Steam 1-2 weeks before the game releases to the public. However, your save from the demo will carry over to the full game.

December - 2024

Dokimon updates for patches + additions

Throughout the month of December, Dokimon will be updated several times to fix bugs, fill in missing content where needed, adjust and increase localization scripts and readability, and perhaps add a couple of extras or frequently requested features

Nuumonsters announcements

There will be some fairly exciting Nuumonsters announcements in December, including possible new updates, and we will also pick up posting to the Nuumonsters account on X.

Scheduled MonMae update

There will be a MonMae update that will give us the final features of the monster tamer engine. Updates following this one will focus on improving the engine itself and adding in other new battle systems, like ARPG battling or more traditional turn based RPG battling

January - 2025

Final touches for Dokimon on Steam

We believe Dokimon will be regularly updated through all of December, and receiving the last of it's features and polish in the month of January.

However, we may continue to increase localization to new languages regardless.

MonMae transition to Luna begins

MonMae will officially be rebranded to "Luna", a name that screams out "the sky is the limit!" as we start testing new battle system additions to the MonMae system this month.

Following the addition and polish of these battle systems, we would also start getting new versions of "Luna" ready, including cheaper alternative options, as well as a Steam version.

Big Nuumonsters Announcement

There will be a big announcement for Nuumonsters on around my birthday, which is near the end of the month in January.

Tinymon starts its closed beta on Steam

Yanako RPGs is actively involved in the development of Tinymon, mainly programming.

We've been told that January is the target launch date to closed beta access for Tinymon, however, the timeline and final decisions for this project are completely managed by Kana.

For more accurate information on this project, please see the developers social media.

Luna documentation and written tutorials

Along with the transition from MonMae to Luna, we will also start working on proper documentation for Luna which will be hosted directly on this website.

This documentation will give extensive details on the arrange of uses and functions of the engine's scripts, how to build your game using Luna, how to keep your game simple yet original (for beginners), and how to get complex for those that want to go big with Luna.

February - 2025

New Dokimon Announcement?

It's possible we'll have some big news for Dokimon in February, however the timeline and general possibility of this will be directly proportional to the games success on Steam. Please look forward to it!

If you want to see more out of Dokimon, please be sure to leave us a review on Steam, and help us spread the word about this wonderful little game we made!

Possible release of Luna builds to itch

Luna may start getting some official releases to itch in February. Unfortunately, there's no ETA for a Steam version at this time, however we imagine we could start moving this forward as soon as the itch builds are polished up.

It's very possible we'll be able to do a Steam page launch in January or February.

March - 2025

Luna updates, additions, and announcements

At this point, we should have Luna builds out and polished on itch. From here, we'll be focusing on a Steam release of Luna while addressing issues and requests for the engine.

The majority of February and March will be focused on the Luna environment and expanding it's library of assets, improving the workflow, and adding new features.

*New* Luna tutorial series on YouTube

Due to the drastic changes that the Luna / MonMae enviroment have gone through, many of our tutorials have gotten out of date. Additionally, we had to stop making them as some of them got outdated rather quickly.

With the release of Luna, we'll have stable ground to stand on and begin re-creating tutorial videos for Luna that will stay relevant through all current and future Luna builds.

April - 2025

Possible announcement for new projects?

Wow! Your glasses must be pretty good if you can see THIS far into the future!

Unfortunately, that's not the case with us. However, by April we do believe to have all of Dokimon, Luna, and Nuumonsters in great standing. As we move into April we'll likely start moving on to new projects, though we think it's likely that Luna will continue to get updates.

What's next?

There's no idea what the future could hold! I wonder what kind of new art we'll see in Luna. Perhaps there will be new game projects? Or sequels?
Fortunately, we have lots of great plans and ideas tucked away in our treasure chest of knowledge (no peeking).

To stay updated on what's new with Yana and the team, check out the "Contact" tab and give us a follow on the SNS platform of your choice. Additionally, there's a comfy little selection of socials on our itch page with cute little buttons you should check out.

That's all for now, cheers!
